I took apart the lower unit and found the aluminum tubing for the drive shaft was warn through. I picked up another one but as you can see it is much longer than the one that was in the motor. Also, the new one has one end expanded. I’m trying to find out how this should go together. Did I get the wrong tube? Can it be cut down to fit?

Any help showing me how this should go together would be appreciated.
      Thank you

If you can post the actual model number, maybe someone would have a parts diagram for it.

Not sure what I’m lookin at, but it appears 1951 (Model 513) and 1952 (Model 3325) are different. Both are called “1-20” So…I presume yours is a 1951 (Model 513). I’ll post the parts sheet in a few minutes.

The tube on the bottom (next to the tape measure )is the tube that came out of my motor. As you can see, it is broken. The one on the top that is longer is the one I picked up. Clearly 2 different lengths so I didn’t know if I got the wrong part or not.

For whatever it’s worth, here is the 1952 version. Perhaps this is what you got? I just don’t know what the interchangeability is.

hmmmm …. interesting. I’m not sure what year this 1-20 is but that tube looks like the one I picked up. Its just much longer than the one that was in it ( the broken one)

If the new tube is the same ID and OD as the old one, I don’t know why you couldn’t cut it to
fit. Measure twice, cut once, lol.
Is there any o-rings or seals of some type that seal the tube?
