Here’s another one that I need info on.
      It’s a Sea King, but I haven’t found a
model number, and hence a year made.
      Ideas?
      Thanks.

Here is a link to possible years. It show 1936, 37, and 38 as opposed twins Seakings at 4.8hp and Thor as the supplier. (Im not sure if my assumption is correct)

Here is you tube video of 1937 Seaking

Your searching went better than mine…. Thanks!
I’d say mine is a dead ringer for the 1937 Sea King / Thor
          on Youtube.

My guess is that it’s a 1939 5 horse made by Evinrude. The Sea Kings were sold as Vikings up here in Canada. The 39 was a model 466 (I think the Sea King was a 499?)

Have a look at Richard Paquette’s site – there’s a good picture of the 466 in Viking colours:

Buccaneer, can you supply additional pictures of the motor. A good snap shot on top of the rope sheave would help also.

To the right of the carb there should be a welsh plug on the port cylinder. The model and serial number should be found there.

BTW – the model number should be on a brass frost plug on the block if it’s the Sea King made by Evinrude.

I’ll bring it out in the light today and get some
more photos, and look for the said welch plug!
