Going to be checking this CL listed motor out soon . Any idea what year it is and where the Motor ID tag is located,seller could’t find the tag.Now comes the fun part attempting to attach the photo 😀 Jim

Robbie RobertsonOctober 26, 2016 at 10:05 pm #46526Steer it to one side and look for the tag between the stern brackets. Reverse the two numbers preceding the "X" and you get the year. Reverse 16X and you get 61X—a 1961.

FrankR said to look for blistered paint on the cylinder, indicating a overheat commonly from a gear case leak into the water pump.
