      Going to be checking this CL listed motor out soon . Any idea what year it is and where the Motor ID tag is located,seller could’t find the tag.Now comes the fun part attempting to attach the photo 😀 Jim

          US MEMBER PAY BY CHECK

          Steer it to one side and look for the tag between the stern brackets. Reverse the two numbers preceding the "X" and you get the year. Reverse 16X and you get 61X—a 1961.

              I sold one last year that looks exacty like that. The new owner ran it without oil and out of the water. Just sayin’. Great runner when I had it.

                Wow…lots of Sea Kings up your way. $50.00 for a 35 HP that "needs a tune-up". Not bad; I’d look at it if I was closer….

                  Hope that isn’t the one i’m looking at tomorrow! FrankR said to look for blistered paint on the cylinder, indicating a overheat commonly from a gear case leak into the water pump.

                    The one i had was a 1960. You should be good to go. Something to check is the top crankshaft bushing for wear.

                      grab the flywheel and move back and forth in all directions to check for movement.thanks
