My personal un-knowledgeable opinion is that it won’t work. I’d rather believe you have some fault in the computerized fuel injection system. Possibly a bad sensor somewhere.

Not personally familiar with you vehicle but I suspect your in need
of a knock sensor. This sensor detects pre-ignition and retards the
timing accordingly. Best to take it to where they have experience
with your brand and have the proper test equipment. Allowing this
to continue can be way more expensive and inconvenient than what
taking it in now and leaving it for a day will be.
I should find out this a.m. ….now that my 5 year warranty has expired I am certain my dealer will find the expensive problem reported to them before my warranty finished 3 months ago

Well, I reckon the end result was good news. I’ve been hearing a rattle in my zero-turn mower for awhile. Yesterday I found the cause–engine fell off. Sheared off all 4 mounting bolts.
