SKF used to have a web page where you could search for a seal
based on the part number or dimension, i.e., OD & shaft size.
My old link for that no longer works, and I can’t find it.
Anyone have a working link to the SKF seal search, or
      another good look-up tool?

The HD-15 I’m working on had some type of felt? prop shaft
seal that disintegrated when I was cleaning the bearing cap,
so I was thinking about putting a regular seal in it’s place.
      Thoughts? Thanks!

Thanks Mumbles! Glad the site is still available,
though it finds no seals with 7/16" (.4375) shaft size.
Not sure about the .750 OD.
I had a new seal for a HD-25. Appears to be the
same shaft size, but the OD is bigger, at .875.
Was that some kind of "felt" material originally in the HD-15?

The parts list shows there’s a two piece prop shaft sealing system,
                part numbers….
                171244 "front"
                171245 "rear"

Just out of curiosity, do those numbers supersede?
I get no "hits" searching for them.
Not sure what’s different between the two, but
they seemed to be some kind of felt material
                that crumbled apart.
I ordered a "11x19x6" metric seal that’s close to required
measurements, but may still need a backup plan if
                it doesn’t work out!
                Thanks.
