I have inherited a Sears 12HP outboard Model 571-59271 Serial Number 59271.1017. I have learned that it was built by Westbend in 1965 but can’t find any parts for it. It is in great condition but needs a water pump impeller. Any idea where I could find one?
      Thank you,
      Bill

These guys might be able to help you out. I’ve never used them before, so I can’t vouch for them:

Interestingly, this website (that I have ordered from before and can vouch for, says your motor is a 1960 7.5HP). They could have parts too:

And then this site looks like it has some good general info:

        Good luck to ya!!

Here’s a PDF with a somewhat abbreviated service manual for the West Bend 12.

            Thanks guys!!

Looks like I need to find someone who reproduces impellers? Anyone out there that does it?

You might need to go that route. You submit your old "core" and the new vanes are added. Before you go that route you can check with member chrysleroutboarddude to see if any of the available Mercury/Force/Chrysler impellers will work….or if he knows of another similar impeller from some other application that would work with perhaps some minor modifications.

I just installed a $15.00 OMC impeller in a Chrysler; the genuine Chrysler impeller (from Mercury) costs $125.00! So; there are sometimes solutions that are not readily apparent.

Here are a couple of sources for "made to order" impellers:

I am about 99% sure this impeller will work in the 12hp West Bend

If that motor is a 12 hp West Bend from the 60s there is a Sierra impeller that will fit. Most likely the one listed above. Chrysler bought West Bend and continued many similar motors. Take a close look at the starter pinion and be gentle with it. The are a weakness of these motors and not always readily available.
