I have been working on outboards for more than 40 years and have seen many of those low profile Scott-based engines. But I didn’t know they were called shortie-Scotts, either. I think if we had to, we may have guessed right; but this is the internet so you just never know. That’s why you ask for clarification on things. Maybe it’s a regional thing. The first time somebody down south asked me for my "tag number," I had NO idea what they were talking about. Us Yankees call it a license plate number. See? Nobody needs to get huffy over something as stupid as this. It is a simple misunderstanding.
