Hey Phil, my anti virus didn’t like that link you posted to Seastar.
Anyone else have this issue?
I just watched the video Mumbles….. no problems, nor warnings.

March 11, 2021 at 12:58 am #233507I have the same boat but it has the shorter deck and is the fishing style with 3 regular seats and one small storage seat in the back.At our resort we had 10 of the older Crestliners mostly the Commodores. They are very good boats and very pleasing to the eye.I have only saw one green one and that was a Viking it was around Hibbing Mn.
I run a &9 Evinrude 35hp on mine it is the ideal match I think.
The Viking was rated for 65hp but in Canada they only allow 35hp the Commodores were 35hp Usa and 17.5hp here in Canada they run really well with an 18 or a 20 so it browns me off a little.March 11, 2021 at 8:35 am #233514you may find that the longer cable used on the shorter side will work and you would only need one cable.
Those old cable’s outer sheaths are so stiff I’m afraid they won’t cooperate
with the tight turns behind the seat. I might save myself a lot of aggravation,
time and shipping if I just replace them both now.Prepare to be boarded!

As long as my 35 hp planes the boat, I’ll be happy.Prepare to be boarded!
March 11, 2021 at 8:45 am #233516Scott, thanks for the instructions!
When I order cables, and say I come up with 16′ in my measurements, for example,
that will be the length of the outer cable, correct?
And the inner cable will be a foot or so longer?Prepare to be boarded!
March 11, 2021 at 9:29 am #233519Thanks Phil, for posting that seastar link concerning kinking the wire. I was wondering whether teleflex/seastar ever got around to annealing the wire ends at the factory. Back in the old days, they did not, and it was impossible to properly kink them without first annealing the wire ends. However, OMC cables came pre-annealed. I rarely bought teleflex cables for that reason. Glad to see they finally woke up (assuming the instructions are true).
March 11, 2021 at 10:07 am #233521Perhaps this was the link Mumbles was referring to, and not the video, regarding
potential disease of the harddrive. When I click on it, it get, “Blocked due to Riskware”,
whatever that is.Prepare to be boarded!
March 11, 2021 at 10:09 am #233522Frank, I have no idea of what you’re talking about regarding “kinking the wire”, but
perhaps it will be evident when I open up the control box?Prepare to be boarded!
