I do agree that the upload on here is hard for pictures when you have a high resolution camera. I don’t have a way to upload anything anymore with upgraded phones, so I have to describe as best as possible.

Yes, the 2 mb limit is a pain. I have not figured out how to file re-size images taken from my “good” Sony camera, so if I intend to post a pix here i have to use my “old” Sony camera, Now, to further complicate things, I often submit articles to the “Antique Outboarder” magazine, and there the editor prefers the high-resolution images. So, I often find myself back and forth between cameras, taking pictures of the same scene. I supose that one of these days, I’ll learn how (or if) images can be down- sized.

I use MICROSOFT PICTURE MANAGER that came with laptop to resize
I click “predefined width and height” at step four

I’ll have to try that. Is that in Microsoft office or was it just an application that was preloaded?

Agreed.  This site is a wealth of information if you can find it. I’ve not figured out how to effectively use the search function. “Ask a Member” has been a great resource. I wasn’t aware of a free FB site, not good thing for this site.

How do you suppose new people get exposure to the club?

Prior to me finding the actual club, I first gained exposure to what Aomci was about through the FB page. It was later that I Joined and became a dues paying member.

It’s like going to the fair.

Entry is free, but if you want to ride the rides or participate in the games, you then pay up.

The facebook group does just that. It exposure on the largest social platform in the world.

Just my 2 cents to add to the jar!!

Since I don’t do FB, I don’t know how the conversations progress there.  Is it like our “ask a member” where folks ask and receive answers? Or is it… and maybe should be… “”that’s a good question, I’ll bet that you can get an answer if you go to the AOMCI “ask a member” site””?  Kinda’ like going to the mid-way at the fair, you may get a tantalizing glimpse of the tattooed lady, but you have to pay to go inside for the full experience.

I try to volonteer  info best I can  in a  basic   “pay forward”  approach as they say for all I leaned here  but as we freely  and yes gladly post  links to parts listings  books and all  are we discouraging  newcomers from  actually joining and  paying dues  for the valueable information obtained ?

Simple heads-up  can save  big $$$ … more than annual dues.

I modified my  signature years ago in a small attempt to reenforce  the benefits of joing  in.  A bit like American Express  does on their credit cards 🙂  Maybe all paying  members should use it to.

                      Joining AOMCI has priviledges 🙂

I much appreciate/respect the difficult work done by the club leadership on this subject.   IMHO the biggest deterrent to younger members joining/staying is the (inevitably increasing) cost of national membership.

To address that the scope of services should be reduced (magazine?)
