Nice work. These kinds of problems are actually gifts from God that keep our minds alive. Like Kennedy said, “We choose to do these things, not because they are easy; but because they are hard.”

Love that Lockwood. Must add “Acquire Lockwood” on my bucket list!
That pesky carb leak of yours reminded me of yesterday when
the wife loaded up the corn beef, cabbage, and water in the old
roaster pan, and five minutes later there was water all over the counter!
You saved the Lockwood…….. I threw out the roaster pan……Great Fix.

Yep, oftentimes the simplest things offer such big challenges. I guess I have never considered these situations a brain exercise, but they are….Exercises that are only appreciated after the problem is finally solved!

wow … who’da thunk it!! leaking AROUND the jet. Tubs, could you detect any looseness in how the jet was seated in the carb body?

Tubs-I’m know I am stating the obvious to most, but it took me a few unpleasant kickbacks to realize those motors start with the mag lever to the left facing the motor and not the right like all my other old twins.I couldn’t figure out why it was climbing out of the barrel, until I realized I was starting it in reverse.

those hard to find problems will stick with you forever. even if you don’t run across it for another 20 +++ years.
