      I recently bought a ’57 Owen’s runabout and it has a ’58 Mercury 45hp Mark 58 Super Thunderbolt. I’ll be taking the battery in soon to find out if its any good. Assuming its no good, what should I be looking for in a starting battery? Thanks!

        I like Costco starting and deep cycle batteries size 27… it will start you and provide deep cycle service for accessories that is what I have on my 75hp

        some say deep cycle batteries have thinner plates and are less durable in vibration prone uses and starting batteries have thicker plates and are best suited for ..starting with high amp loads …
