I think the lightining is escaping from another sourse. Just trying to help you.  I fail to undersand your reasoning & yes the secondary flux field comes from the battery. Thank you very much!! Same basic magneto, just a different power supply. I see no charging capacitor in the drawing so not a phase maker system. I see power coming from the battery via the drop resistor also.. or ballast resistor. And Frank yes, knows what he is talking about !!

Just thought of something, but aren’t these electric start motors positive ground, instead of negative?
