I know it’s been discussed before, but what’s a good quality strap wrench and where to get it? What brand, if any do you recommend? I’d like to get a good one and be done with it forever.
      Thanks!

Rigid would be my "quality"choice,(old plumber) But wait for other opinions.

If it’s for holding flywheels most guys make their own. Otherwise I second the Rigid brand. Very high quality tools.

I don’t know how long forever is, but you can make one for almost free from a piece of 2 x 2 lumber, a piece of nylon strapping, and a few nails. And it will work better than anything on the market. It will last forever, or until the termites eat the wood, whichever comes first.

I found a Briggs and Stratton Strap Wrench on Ebay and have been really pleased with it.

Here is a good choice. The handle is aluminum so it will last for a long time.http://www.stevensinstrument.com/strap_wrench.htm

I use the Stevens tool and it works great. Nice folks to deal with. Call and see if they have a refurbished one. You can possibly get a better price.

I bought a cheap one from Princess Auto (Harbor Freight) just to get the handle and threw the crappy strap away. Replaced it with a length of used serpentine belt from my truck. No slip, no stretch! 😀

Excellent idea but I hope you can get your truck back on the road soon. 😆
