Thought about just selling it, but now, I don’t know. 80psi compression dry, must have run not too long ago, first time I had it upright on a stand, got a couple drops of unburned fuel on the ground. Guess I should pull the flywheel again and test the coil. What ohm reading should I be looking for, and are coils available for it? Model number 57142 sound right? 571-A2?

        571.42 would be a 1941 3hp single

Flywheel says "Eisemann magneto 61-G. Coil has 5,360 ohms and .5-.6 ohms resistance, that’s OK, right? Set points to .020"? Probably will need a condenser. The coil is hanging over what I think is the adjustment ring, but not rubbing on the flywheel, should I move in? Put some liquid electric goo on the bare plug wire coming out of the coil? The oldest motor I’ve ever worked on was my 1950 Johnson 10hp, so this baby is all new to me. The carb and doing an impeller? look like a learning experience.

Sounds like you are on the right track, 3500 ohms on the secondary winding. Thoughts anyone?
