I was given a 1.25 Elgin with a loose top main bearing, which ruined the seal. I have a bearing on order.

I have not been able to find a seal, which is 0.875" OD and 0.125" thick, and runs on a 0.670 " (17 mm) shaft; single lip, rubber covered housing.

      Has anyone solved this problem?

      Thanks,

Best source is SKF (Chicago Rawhide)

        here is their lookup page

I couldnt find any seals for shafts .670 . you could try other diameters within .005 or so, they may work.
