TN28 carb question

      I am servicing the carb on my TN28. When I pulled the high speed needle there was string like packing material wound around the needle just above the threads. I have not encountered this before. The Johnson Service Manual makes no mention of an packing on the high speed needle nor does the parts list breakdown show any packing material. Does anyone have an answer to this?

        Lots of inventers out there, but Johnson didn’t put any packing in there.
