25532 is a 1957. So it is not a super quiet model. That eliminates the complex universal joint connector.

Jeff, depends on what year. The 1957 Lark is just a normal Big Twin Electric with fancy trim. (And noisier).

How hard would it be to just drop the working powerhead with electric start onto the other non running motor?

It would be hard, real hard.

Hard like having Stephen Hawking on the wrench while FrankR talks him through the process. 😆

Actually not funny, but I can’t see why I would be that hard. If it is what is the best way to deal with this. Take the head off and then what?

Some famous guy (who was it?) said you have nothing to fear but fear itself. Once you get the powerhead off, the problem will be obvious. The only possibility that would warrant replacing the whole thing would be if the shifter shaft is worn sloppy loose in the exhaust housing. Anything else is easy.

Sorry man, I read my post just now and it is a bit mean. I’m not going to delete it though so people may get to know my sometimes not so funny sense of humor and maybe not bop me in the nose unexpectedly at some meeting.
