I’ve sure never seen one.  Looks too good to be a back yard hack.  Prototype???

It’s pretty mean looking with that exhaust! None like it in my garage.

          Prepare to be boarded!

Are there any other numbers ? — I think V3100-2000 is the engine (powerhead) model #. If it’s a production outboard, you may be able to find the it’s model # somewhere else on the unit.

Reading online on a Clinton forum there is mention of the motor being sort of a custom build by a company in Seattle???

It’s a Seapacer outboard. With a 2.5hp, 4 stroke, Clinton engine. The V in the model number indicates it is vertical shaft. The lower parts are the same as those other 2 stroke Clintons. The one i have doesn’t have a water pump to cool the motor leg.

Obviously doesn’t have to cool the motor leg, since it has that goofy looking above-water exhaust/muffler.

Seapacer.  jcrigan;  have you seen mention of it in any Clinton literature or elsewhere?

Here is what someone on a Clinton Forum said:

This model outboard, VS-3100 was the brain child of John Roby, President of Roby & Sons, Inc located in Seattle, Washington. John was the only independent distributor for Clinton Engines in the South Pacific Area. Roby contracted out the manufactured the driveshaft housing, gear case and did all the assembly work on the unit in Washington. In application a round hole was cut in the bottom of a small/medium size boat and the unit was secured to the boat via the transom plate. The unit had a handle and was capable of swiveling to accomidate steerage. John had a unique relationship with Don Thomas and this marketing product was processed for manufacture by the Manufacturing Engineering Section at Clinton.I rather doubt Roby is still in business and I would think any service literature would be a rare find

That post was found here:  https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/clintongasfr/v3100-outboard-t375.html

Now that I have a name  (Thanks jcrigan) I see reference to it.  Peter Hunn of course makes mention of the Sea Pacer.  And;  here’s an ad from a 1962 Boating Mag:

Makes sense now that it was made here in the Pacific nw. I haven’t seen them anywhere else.
