Yup that fitting is a schrader valve. You can buy them on ebay. I built a gear case pressure tester using one of those baby’s. I had to make a fancy fitting to screw the thing into the gear case but it works good. I use a bicycle tire pump to pressurizer the housing. I found a low pressure air gauge at tractor supply.
The shrader valves is 3/8″ pipe tread. I used a 3/8′ coarse tread bolt and braised it to a fitting that would screw in my “T” fitting. The tread pitch the OMC gear cases are 3/8″ coarse tread. Plumbers nightmare but it works!
The male “engine side” is 3/8-16 (OMC gearcase thread), and the female side of this fitting is standard 1/4″NPT…from there you can do anything: whip hose, Tee fittings, add a schrader valve, pressure gauge, etc. ….basically anything that’s NPT. YOu can custom engineer anything you want.
Ya that’s nice boatbuilder! You have a good seal at the gear case too. Sometimes my gasket gets whipped out and I have to make a new one. Good to know.
thanks for info .. I’ll see if I can find those 33t fittings locally if not available I’ll probabaly try to order if… not cost prohibitive. shipping $$$ are crazy
