Thanks Guys! I had the inlet screen still taped over from painting, and the impeller plate needed a better seal job. I corrected both and the water pump pumps very nicely. The water fountains out of the water tube.  I was testing the water pump in a barrel using a drill to turn my drive shaft. I wanted to get it right before installing it on the exhaust stack. Thanks for all the help.

Testing the pump in a barrel with a drill to turn the driveshaft is a great check to verify a good supply of water to the powerhead. Good luck with your restoration!
