This waterwitch that I have has been misfiring. It looks like I am blowing fuel mixture out of the poppet valve. I am assuming these old motors were not as efficient as the new ones so I am not sure if this is outside the scope of what is normal. Any thoughts? if this is a problem what would be the proper fix?

That doesn’t look normal. The rod that the valve slides on may be worn, and the valve wobbles and doesn’t seat properly. The valve or the seat may be worn. There may be something keeping the valve from closing all the way.
