Plate is home made. Paint is by former owner/artist 🙂
September 6, 2017 at 10:53 pm #64429Often the front cover is missing. I think it’s because people fight to get these motors running and get tired of pulling off and on. I’m guessing yours is a 1939. The blue paint was an interesting choice. I’m guessing that’s what the previous owner had on the shelf.

September 6, 2017 at 11:42 pm #64432September 7, 2017 at 2:06 am #64443We tore a bunch of WaterWitches down for restoration a couple weeks ago. It was easy to take the front cover off if you removed the jet and nut first.

September 7, 2017 at 3:59 am #64449From what I can tell with the 1939 waterwitches that I have is that the they were silver all over. The flywheel and tank were polished, leg tube anodized aluminum, brackets and transom mount painted silver.

was a real challenge even with the jet removed
because of the timing shaft as I remember. Think
I had to pull the flywheel to get at the tank nuts
so I could loosen it and lift it up a little. The rear
tank nuts are a pain also. There is a strong demand
for those front covers as so many have been thrown
away.A "Boathouse Repair" is one that done without having tools or the skills to do it properly.
September 8, 2017 at 8:21 pm #64553😀 Has anybody out there every found a front cover available anywhere ?
September 9, 2017 at 3:30 am #64570Sorry, somebody beat you to the one I posted
a picture of. Part of the fun (for me anyway) is finding the
part (or motor) you have been looking for. Sometimes its
years. Sometimes your still looking.quote wbeaton:We tore a bunch of WaterWitches down for restoration a couple weeks ago. It was easy to take the front cover off if you removed the jet and nut first.I’d be checking with wbeaton.
Doesn’t hurt to ask.A "Boathouse Repair" is one that done without having tools or the skills to do it properly.
September 9, 2017 at 1:16 pm #64576We don’t have any spares. I think out of the 6(?) motors we tore down probably only half had the front cover.
