I found this Sears 12 hp (571 58931) last summer. When I get around to the cosmetics I would like to apply the correct West Bend graphics to the hood. I’m not sure of the year; maybe ’57-’60. Anyone have a photo? Thanks, Slim

        Here’s a 1956 ad. I believe it’s different than yours,
but have to say, a nice looking motor.

1961 West Bend Shark line up.
Those are the closest I can find.

            Slim, 58931 is a 1958 year.

              There is a picture of a 1958 35hp Elgin at http://www.yankeeaomci.org/feature_outboard-2.htm
Bottom of page. Assuming (maybe???) the 12 would have similar graphics.

BTW, are you planning to make a West Bend out of your Sears Elgin?

Thank you gents; The photos are appreciated. The ’58 Elgin 35’s hood is a match except for the side latches. Mine has a rear latch. And frankr, I’m just trying to make it look like the West Bend it is. The tan paint on the engine and lower does not look like Elgin or WB. I sought out this one because of the hp to weight ratio. And my ’53 Alumacraft E is rated for 12 hp max. Can’t wait to get her out on the lake!
