Anyone have a digital manual for the subject motor?
I’m told the Wizard’s powerhead is based on the
Mercury Mark 25, but “de-tuned” a little.
I don’t have s specific manual for the Mark 25 either. Is the rest of the Wizard the same as the Mark 25,
such as gear case, water pump impeller, etc? Thanks!

August 6, 2023 at 11:52 pm #278907I think all Wizzies were detuned for competion purposes. I have a Mercury disc that is protected from copy, do you know how to over ride & copy? I would copy & send if I had a way to copy. I do have the original blue Mercury service manual I would need to scan & e mail you pages you need if you wanted. I never had a Wizzie so I never looked if it’s in the book but very close to Merc motors. Send me a PM if you want & tell me what pages you need. P.S. If you can find a reprint of the blue manual 1965 & prior the part # is 90-25500. It is the same as the blue covered manual except a white cover reprint. The C.D. is a Nanette brand Mercury “Outboard Sales & Service” It has very little on the early KB & KD models which I needed the other day, sadly couldn’t help another much. I have heard the Wizzie had smaller ports & carbs & used Phelon mags but mostly the same parts. Carl was very good at using stuff like the same pistons & bores on different hp motors like the KG4 & Mark 30 used the same pistons only 2 more. I have a cross referance book somewhere too. Been a rough few years for my being sick, I forget where it is.
August 7, 2023 at 9:17 am #278913Jeff, thanks for your information and offers.
I looked thru my few CD’s last night, and found a Merc disc,
but it was for 1965 to 89 Mercs, 2-40 hp, so of no use
for the 1957 Wizard.
I was able to save this CD to my hard drive, so it’s handier
for future use, even though I’m not into outboards newer
than 1960’s.
I don’t know when I’ll get started on the Wizard, as I just
bought seven project motors, and two parts motors at Tomahawk,
and want to get edumacated on the Wizard before I tackle it!
I’ll do some searching on the Net with the info you provided.
Thanks!Prepare to be boarded!

I have a copy of the parts catalog for the 1954 WK-7 if you think it would help.

This is my first Wizard 12 hp, and I think the first Wizard period, so
I have no ideas of the motor’s evolution or differences, but
if you have the manual digitized, I’d be grateful to check it out.

I don’t have it digitized. It’s 22 pages. I can scan your specific needs, just let me know.
Thanks, when I get to the motor, I’ll contact you if needed.
Much appreciated!Prepare to be boarded!
