What am I missing here….

I was using Frank’s tool to replace the orings in a two hose connector… One of the connectors had two orings in each cavity, the usual one and a smaller one also….Was this something that OMC actually did? Or, was it someone’s attempt to make a better seal with two orings….

Those small o-rings look out of place. There should only be 2 total. That’s got to be an attempt to make a better seal.

Looks like somebody’s private invention. But speaking of private inventions, I must confess that I’ve experimented with two of the correct size O-rings stacked in each cavity. Surprisingly, it seemed to work very well, especially when the connector was unplugged from the motor. Your results may vary.
