I took this from a 1988 OMC Accessories catalog. One of the longer listings as they dropped props as time went by.

If slipping in the prop…I’ve seen screws driven through the prop into the rubber…just sayin..

          Yup, that’s the old trick.

It’s cheaper than re-hubbing and if you use stainless screws, this fix should last all summer long, especially if you are in salt water. 😕 Maybe all year in fresh.

Typical 10hp props will have too little pitch to keep the RPM down on a 15.

I would get the prop fixed the right way. Trying to cobble something together will generally lead to issues down the line. It’s neither difficult or expensive to have it done properly.

Why don’t you contact Michigan propeller and see if you can buy a brand new one. I just recently bought a 7 pitch brand new for a 1955 Johnson 10 horse. I think at the time a 7,8 and 9 pitch were available.

Well, right now it’s because I’m a little broke. 😆

I do need to see if anyone in the area has some of the different pitches, see what might work best for my boat

I do have a 12D10 and a pair of QD15s, can I use their props?

Anyone know the answer to this question? I can dig up the part numbers on the props if need be

Yes, those QD props will fit on your ’56 Fastwin and they both use the same 203663 stainless drive pin. The major difference is in the pitch. The original Fastwin prop was 9 X 10 but the QD props are 9 X 8 so the boat should jump out of the water quicker but it won’t have the top speed as before. You also have to be careful to not over rev the motor with the QD prop on it.

I had Admiral/C & B Propeller Co in south Tampa re-hub the prop off of my 1958 Johnson 18 hp. They can handle just about any prop.
