What year did Champion discontinue the J6J spark plug?Thoughts on Champion J6C plugs of new manufacture, The NGK B6S spark plug? Would it be worth it to search for NOS Champion J6J plugs? Thanks Bill,

Having run both J6C and B6S plugs in 1956 Johnson 30 HP motors, either will work fine but the B6S seem to run a bit cleaner longer. No performance advantage between J6J and J6C plugs. The top electrode on the J6J extends only half way across the vertical electrode. I was told this was to minimize fouling bridging the electrode gap. That does not occur anymore with the newer TCW3 oils.

Billy, if you want to keep it original, you can usually find some J6J’s on EBay.

I will start keeping an eye for NOS J6J’s. I never used the NGK B6S plugs I bought some on the recommendation of my auto parts guy I am going to give them a shot. Still curious when did Champion discontinue the J6J?
