Edited out wrong info.
March 26, 2016 at 1:39 am #33925Well, the ’58 had a clamshell cowl, and the ’60 was a 40-hp. So that leaves ’59 ? the 355xx version, I believe..
March 26, 2016 at 3:06 am #33929Cover is 1958.
March 26, 2016 at 3:42 am #33931Still looking for info. See lots of photos of this version of the ’59 35 Golden Jubilee, but not so many with the first type cover (photo above). Is the one above another version of the Golden Jubilee? Any other differences between the one posted here (that matches all the parts manuals that I have come across) and the one posted above with the different cover?

March 26, 2016 at 3:59 am #33933It is a 1958 35 hp Lark. Model number should be 35514.
March 26, 2016 at 4:35 am #33935Thanks RC.
With the model #, now I can find more info and 1958 is good news. Now it makes sense why the cover is different from the ’59 Erude 35. Marineengine.com doesn’t have the 35514 in their catalogs.
I need an external harness for my ’58 35 SSH, so the one on the ’58 Erude should be the same. Will check part numbers tomorrow after a good night’s sleep. Might have to go try to buy the ’58 Erude after all.
March 26, 2016 at 10:06 pm #33955Reproduction wiring harnesses are available here, but they are EXPENSIVE!
http://www.nymarine.ca/wiringharness.htmMarch 28, 2016 at 12:38 am #34001Okay, so I threw down $250 and picked up the combo. I figure that the complete exterior harness is worth almost that to me… making the boat, trailer and motor almost free. Junction box inside is clean, clean, clean compared to what I’m used to seeing.
Initial question is on the controls. Single lever has a cable to a pulley on one side of what looks like a hydraulic cylinder. The cylinder then has two tubes to two cables for the F-N-R linkage and throttle. What’s this called. Is it worth keeping? it seems to work and may just need some adjusting.
Motor is likely locked up, didn’t get to spend enough time with it to know. It has rained here steady for three days. Inside the cylinders didn’t look bad, though. No oil in the foot, so maybe that is the issue. Will start to tinker when the sun returns to the Florida panhandle.
Don’t know the make of the trailer or boat, will have to work on that. Let me know if any of you have any suggestions.
Might make the boat a reward to the two boys if they make good enough grades/Boy Scout advancement. Just need to find a decent 25 horse Yammy or Zuki for salt water use in the bay.
