      Hello to all;
      Is this motor from the late 60’s / early 70’s??
      Any notable quirks or "issues"?
      All info and opinions welcome.
      Many thanks, and happy motoring!

        Going by the decal it appears to be a ’65 CD 22. Is the ID tag still on the port side transom clamp?

        This was the last year OMC used the shock absorber below the water pump and the powerhead does not need to be removed to service the water pump. A short lower shift rod and brass connector was used on these models. It’s basically the same as the earlier 5.5 motors but has needle bearings on the rods big ends. With coil replacement, carb kit and water pump service, it should be good to go.

          Excellent, proven motors. With proper care and maintenance, good for another 50 years.

            Great trolling motors – will idle smooth all day long.

              OMC might still be around today if they could still build these engines just the way the did in the 60s.
