I am converting a 1955 Johnson 25 hp RDE-17 to a single line fuel system.
Will this pump work????????
I will be mounting it on the by pass cover that has the proper embossments.
As far as I know – The pump is for 9.9-15hp

October 4, 2019 at 2:10 pm #184623I know it is used
I will buy a rebuild kit once I find out the part number of the pump
I rather stay with OEM Johnson/OMC/EvinrudeOctober 4, 2019 at 2:33 pm #184624I use Briggs and Stratton fuel pumps there about seven dollars on eBay and you just have to tap out for a nipple in the plate that the old fuel pump attaches 🧐 https://www.ebay.com/itm/FUEL-PUMP-for-KAWASAKI-49040-7001-490407001-Briggs-Stratton-491922-808656/161348477512?epid=1669773719&_trkparms=ispr%3D1&hash=item25911e6248:g:zNsAAOSwcohcUTQr&enc=AQAEAAACQBPxNw%2BVj6nta7CKEs3N0qX5hOw6kZ60FS9W9g2XRlhJ1Ze%2B5NetzAkhVTj1KpeO5yrmJW6bIKTRJASi3elDKcoilFLaU50wyVFe%2Fspkh3dmlaTwhAuZGJrERpypXJ%2BRbcMIakAkxzaZ%2FCb3aPCw5xevh9CJRiC96qnLncejj6YPOSChAeSCWc4RDkSMx%2B3tlcwmUDTUrU612roFzacpozSc%2FdvLo6fbCt7ot9ep2rqJisMizWNZ2pxJEgmV45VFMDpy81FG5pxSmozYV%2FF9svwe1816tfrTs7dapVrCtXK1mswEjiDUPYprPslAXcmP1NU2vwtQg0XqmHrqRJYlp6SzRh1ZXRbFaUR%2Bg983Cci3UW7pzvvgersib5sTieZCAXf57FP211YHsTVIz6RG%2Fl2qV%2FxuXZpB%2Bb7nFPpzRSe0WOLlQvsWPoW%2F%2BJGSDmlD21ggo%2FoLAj%2FTqMb29D%2FtDKXnqWGRk6mfkkg10swvvdugVuXOa%2BXFENVdDF3twkQIU2uoru5GOj7i35RSAbQ6Amq9OHuv5an%2BmO8zotQ9J8riu7a6EvaSlMNomGRtxP%2FhOzPG3EEcpyu11zgrgEEouzayoXJaHopWkGFmeNoiFtM4i6GtpLGO3wSp8fs1YInbjqtJNLEellWsHYIulX3BPiOLhfbg%2FllX0B7NbxeZGCsTicdZANLBselMPjoQtNL7D%2FSonjC1LZ6xsq0g7ilsK6eq1qaRcAtsZKD7axULN53duQygJU7cODVV5x29729NHQ%3D%3D&checksum=161348477512bff80f596a31481dba9a157b3be63e3d Just an example they’re all over eBay

October 4, 2019 at 2:48 pm #184627The fuel demand for a 25 horse might be borderline for what the small square pump can supply as these pumps originally came on the 9.9/15 horse and smaller motors. I know they have been used successfully on the later 18-20 horse motors though. After taking everything into consideration, the price of a used pump, condition unknown, shipping costs, and a rebuild kit, why not consider a pump designed for larger motors?

October 4, 2019 at 4:47 pm #184637the round mikuni Briggs pump is what I have on my 22hp mower should work and cheap to buy as there are various sources under various names

October 4, 2019 at 6:42 pm #184648What I was trying to do is find a pump that is smaller than what I used before.
It was little tuff to get the hood on.
I like Franks pump because it looks smaller but the barb does not rotate.
As for the Briggs – I don’t want to mount it with tie wraps.
I guess I will do it like I did before.
But I do appreciate all the input as always.
That’s what I like about our club. Everyone is trying to help.October 4, 2019 at 8:51 pm #184653October 5, 2019 at 8:12 am #184655The RDE-17 that I put the fuel pump on has been sold.
I will be picking up a RD-17 on 10-16-2019
If memory serves me correctly =I did not put the fuel pump on the upper bypass because there was no room.
Frank in you last picture- Isn’t that pump a 380016 (no moveable barb) not 438562? -
