I have been searching for a used windshield for my 14′ aluminum runabout with no success. I decided to try to
make one. I surfed the web for a pattern also no success. The old windshield is long gone so no help there.
If someone has a windshield they would like to part with, that would be great. If you know where to find a pattern,
that also is great. My next option is to wing it and hope for the best.

      Sincerely,

      Doug Follett

TaylorMade, made so many windshields back in the day, and if your pockets are deep enough they can still do that today. I know because I work for them. That being said, there are persons out there, I saw them and spoke with them at Tomahawk and they make windshields. I will get their card, it is at home, and post their info this evening. On a side note, my former boss states that they made only about 4 different sizes of windshields for ALL the widths of boats. That is why not all windshields look the same, but in fact they may be. They were almost exclusively made in New York, and he was an Engineer there and still is one here, he just deals with the aluminum frame ones now as well as the bonded framed ones.

I still have the frame and cracked/scratched TaylorMade windshield that came on my 1960(?) Aerocraft.

Look at the first photos at http://www.aerocraft-boats.org/boats/0000/

I replaced it with a style closer to what the AeroCraft catalog shows (see the last photos at the above link).

I can trace either one for you. The old one (or just the frame) can be yours if you can pick it up near Boston…

I think the first windshield is the “Holiday” style and the new one I replaced it with is “SportShield” style as shown in this spec sheet:
