Tubs, is this motor going to Maine with you next summer?
I hope you don’t get the deluge again!

That’s the plan Bob,
To take it and one of the others I have and
run twins. I’ve been putting a couple 60’s
lightwins on the boat the last few years.
That video has got way more hits than any
other I have made.
Seems like the summers now are either hot
and doesn’t hardly rain at all, or it wont stop
raining. Last year I put the boat in when I got
there and ended up having bail it out before
I got to go out.
Bailing out the boat use to be the worst but
I don’t mind it anymore.

November 25, 2023 at 3:19 pm #282792What a great winter project Tubs! I’m sure you will make a brilliant job of that motor. Getting all the grime off certainly gives you a better idea of what you have .
Have fun!

You are the man to do this project! I wish you well.

Got to spend some time the motor.
This all I have for drive shafts.
I added some weld to the female
side to fit the mail side as best I
could. If I could take the male joint
off I could make a better repair but
its pressed on before a tapered hole
is drilled for impeller pin.
It would be difficult to aligned it.

Used the aluminum brazing rod here.
As usual with this stuff, it worked but
it was difficult and the result is not as
good as I hoped.
