Zhongfadz coil

I got these out to use today and found them glued to the laminates. No problem just cut the glue. They seem a little thick to use on my Elgin laminates. Is it okay to file the rivet down flush and maybe remove the top laminate where it make a T? if you know what I mean.

I just put some in a Martin a few days ago.
The laminates are a little longer in the Martin
so besides filing down the rivet some on both
sides the tab that held the original coil was
removed.

A "Boat House Repair" is one that done without having tools or the skills to do it properly.

Glad to hear those Chinese coils come off the laminates.
I was going to use one on my 2 hp Westbend, but wasn’t
sure how well they were glued on, and not wanting to
ruin the coil, opted for an OMC coil.

I think the tab should be removed. The back of one cracked and about a 1/4 of it fell off. I put it back on with some Corona dope. Ñot sure if that happened during removal or installation of coil on laminates.

So where are you buying these coils from?

I would also ask how do you order the correct coil?

I understand we reference the laminate core size, however does this yield the correct coil every time?

I would like to know the part number that correctly cross references with the motor.

So many concerns over ordering the correct coil replacement. The cost of the Zhongfadz replacement coil (direct) is very low.

so how can I be certain I’m ordering correctly?

Martin 40 engine, needs 2 coils.

they have several numbers  but… pretty much all the same    cheap on amazon …. check prices with  or without shipping   …some on ebay to !

They are using the OMC style coil.  Many many people on ebay and Amazon are selling them.  Here’s one:
